This paper describes the fundamental mechanisms of dystrophy and dysplasia. The study demonstrated that disruption of mitochondrial structure leads to significant suppression of mitochondrial respiration and ATP production, as well as to an imbalance of ions within the cell. It also explains that pathobiosis can be exemplified by tissue necrosis, while autolysis is the hydrolysis of cellular components and intercellular substance under the influence of lysosomal enzymes.
